How to Sell Credit Congress to Your Management Team

Credit Congress is the premier event of the year for Credit Professionals. This year it was held in St. Louis, Missouri. There were 34 members from the Salt Lake affiliate in attendance. I decided to ask several of the members how they get their boss to let them go. What I found is that selling the education was the number one way that Credit Managers convinced their company that this conference is important to both them as a credit professional and also a benefit to their company. real full article  **note - The Western Region Credit Conference is Oct 14-16 in Portland OR.

Nine Methods for Establishing Credit Limits 

By establishing credit limits for customers, a creditor retains discretion over credit granting. In other words, it places a ceiling on the amount of orders a company can place and doesn't promise to extend credit further. 

While credit limits should not limit sales potential, a company needs to ask itself two key questions: How much exposure it is willing to take with its customer base, and will it be liberal or conservative . . . read full article
